Project You: Fearless
Recently I had the opportunity to photograph the first full day event from Project You (Thank you Meagan Ayres and the whole Project You team for creating such pure magic!). The focal point of the day was fear and what living a fearless life meant to each of us.
The whole day could not have been more fitting for a Sunday. Reflection, gratitude, self care - ahhh, perfection 👌🏻😍
Living a fearless life doesn't mean I don't have fear. Living fearlessly means that I live my life the way that I want despite the fear. To be fearless means to include the fear and transcend it.
I am scared ALL THE TIME. No exaggeration - every. single. day. I am confronted by fear.
When the fear comes up, I am given two choices:
Do I choose to be crippled by it?
Do I choose to thank it for appearing, learn what it's wanting to teach me, and then continue along the path that's best suited to the highest version of myself?
I'm not going to lie, pursuing my dreams, by showing up for myself and the women I want to serve is terrifying. Honouring the space I've made for women to heal and grow - in front of my lens, here on the blog, and within the Dame Dome - scares me beyond belief. Creating content and an upcoming photoshoot recovery program for eating disorder survivors, is so freakin' scary. Even though I know all of this will benefit thousands of women, it fills me with so much fear.
Because this is what I want most in the world. Nothing lights me up more than this. Going full tilt means that my best could still not be good enough to truly succeed. My best still could mean I fall flat on my face, fail, and then be judged or rejected by my tribe for it.
I continue to walk this path because my "Why" is far bigger than I am. I am here, with my fear in tow, because I know I am meant to serve and provide value to each and every one of you.
So now dames, it's your turn. I would love to know, what does living a fearless life mean to you?
