Hello Beauties!

As a boudoir photographer, I have to say, I have heard some really, really poor excuses as to why women “can’t” do a boudoir photoshoot. I understand that on occasion there are extenuating circumstances that don’t allow for boudoir sessions to take place such as:

‘I have a broken arm, leg, pelvis, back, etc.’

‘I have a highly contagious life threatening disease’

‘I have been abducted by aliens’

4 worst reasons to not do a boudoir session

Outside of the excuses found above, here are 4 worst excuses for not doing a boudoir session (.. And they are frankly lame) that women tell themselves as to why they “can’t” do a boudoir session:

  1. I need to get in shape/lose weight first: I hear this excuse so often! Part of why I dislike this excuse is because boudoir photography is about body acceptance and celebrating who you are, as you are. Aside from that, there are also a number of solutions: Picking outfits that flatter your figure is a must. But even more than the outfits are the poses, the angles I shoot from and great natural light. Vancouver Boudoir Photographer - Love Yourself Now
  2. I don’t have a significant other: Although boudoir photography does make a fantastic gift, boudoir is more importantly about you and you alone. A boudoir session is something that every woman should experience at least once in their life. The confidence boost felt after a luxury boudoir photoshoot one that should really be felt for yourself and not anyone else.Chelsey Luren Portraits Vancouver Boudoir Photographer - Confidence
  3. I have no idea what to do: That is perfectly fine! For most women this is their only experience with a boudoir session. I will always give plenty of direction and coach you so that you have no need to worry about how you will pose or move. 4. I don’t know what to wear: Every woman’s outfit choice for lingerie varies. Some women feel amazing in a tank top and panties, for others a bustier and stockings is a better match. What matters the most is how you feel in what you are wearing. Bring what makes you feel beautiful. We will sit down to discuss outfits in your pre-shoot consultation. So stop worrying, you won't be saying this.
