If You Struggle With Body Image, This is For You
I've recently been giving a lot of thought to the message I want to put out there to all of my readers on the Chelsey Luren Portraits blog.
"What would my readers like to hear? What do they really care about? What can I give to them?"
It then occurred to me that I had not even properly defined who it was that I wanted to connect with through my blog or through my Vancouver glamour and boudoir photography. And even more than that, if I haven't defined it, how can I share that message with the people who are sitting here reading it?
So to clarify for both myself, and for my readers, we need to both get honest. How would you answer the following questions?

Have you felt the sting of self hate, and felt trapped there?
Are you still stuck?
Are you sick and tired of being in that state?
Are you battling an eating disorder or other body image struggles?
Are you on a journey towards body positivity, self love and self improvement?

Who are you wanting to heal for? Yourself or others in your life?

Why should you listen to a word I have to say on body positivity, self care, or eating disorder recovery?
Well, I know firsthand what it's like to be STUCK. To feel trapped in a place of self hate, body image struggles and live with the beast we call an eating disorder. I know what it's like to feel that there is no support and no help in sight.
I can see your pain because I've felt it too.
After years of work (like, 6 solid years), I am at a place of health. I can say that I am recovered (or "in remission" as some medical pros like to say). I know the amount of time, effort, courage, and tears it takes to shift the way that we see it.
And now that I have moved through it, I want to help others.
Helping women who are healing their body image, learning to have self love, or recovering from an eating disorder is wholeheartedly:
My vision and mission in life.
Who I want to connect with.
Who I want to work with and photograph.
If anything that I've said resonates with you, I want this blog to be a resource for you. I want to be able to give you my all.

I have never felt more connected, or more aligned than when I am connecting with and helping women who are working on their self improvement and actually want to shift the way that they see themselves.
Every single photoshoot I do with women who are recovering from an eating disorder is something I feel incredibly blessed and grateful for.
