Hello Gorgeous! Today we have something to share with you that is slight different than our normal Vancouver boudoir photography, and I am so excited to bring this your way!
I don't know about the rest of you, but I LOVE me some Ted Talks. I watch them all the time and I really can't imagine how long the history list is on my Youtube and Netflix now because of them.
For those of your who may not be familiar with Ted Talks, here is their mission statement:
TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.
A.K.A. "Ideas worth spreading"
While perusing the talks that are available to watch, I came across this fantastic one that was too good not to share!
To sum up, Meaghan Ramsey proceeds to inform us of the negative impacts that come from thinking you're ugly have not only on you, but on those around you.
These are the parts I really found hit hard:
"10,000 people every month Google, 'Am I ugly?'"
At 1:10 Meaghan discusses the dangers of the internet to young ones' confidence and where they learn to place value on themselves.
4:44 "6/10 girls choose to not do something because they don't think they look good enough".
7:27 Educate for body confidence: Learn strategies to build body confidence and self esteem and 6 areas we can focus on to help.
As a boudoir photographer in Vancouver and as an advocate for body positivity, I stand by my belief that every woman is beautiful. If my words in my previous posts weren't enough proof for you, this amazing talk hopefully helped to give some extra power to what I know to be true.
