Goal Setting: Vancouver Boudoir Photographer Chelsey Luren Portraits
As summer wraps up and we round the corner into the final quarter of the year, I've begun to think of different goals to set for myself.
When I was younger and in the height of my illness (check out my video here to see what I mean), I had a hard time thinking past that very minute, the upcoming hour or the day I was in. The idea of planning anything long term seemed to be WAY out of reach for myself.
Around this time last year was the first I'd stopped to really plan much of anything by way of big goals.
I'd set what had seemed like massive goals for myself within the year of 2015. I'm proud to say that nearly ALL of what I'd put down on my vision board came to fruition before September had even rolled around.
That success of seeing goals and aspirations come to life; especially when a part of me thought I wouldn't see any of it happen, has made me realize that it's time to dream big. I need to raise the bar and decide on making things happen for myself.
I want to see the largest amount of growth in my life that I've ever seen so far.
With all that being said, I feel that sharing my aspirations with the world is such a scary thought! There are so many nay-sayers out there that will do all they can to stop, slow or bring you down and away from achieving your goals. But it's time to say 'enough of that!', I am going to face those Debbie Downers head on!
So here are a few from my list of things I want to have for 2016:
- Overcome my fear of public speaking: I feel so strongly about my purpose in my craft. Being able to help women see their own beauty and embrace their bodies as-is through a boudoir session, is both my passion and a talent. I'm so thankful to possess that gift. I feel that if I could overcome this fear of speaking to a live audience, I could reach so many more women that need the boudoir experience.
- Create my dream studio space: Each and every boudoir photoshoot that I step into, I get closer and closer to achieving this. I love the way my sessions are set up right now, but I am determined to create an even better space in 2016. Onward and upward!
- Embrace better health: 2015 has been the first ever year that I have felt like I am beginning to fully incorporate health into my life. Establishing a healthy balance around nutrition, sleep, exercise, work and play has been something that I have been working on for a LONG time. I want to have this balance better solidified into my life in 2016.
That's more than enough of a sneak peak into what I want for my 2016 - I can't give away everything all at once, I gotta keep some suspense here for you ;)
