Good afternoon Gorgeous!
I came across a quote today that I found so moving. I had to share it with you all.
As a boudoir photographer, I see how frequently women are pressured by outside society into feeling like we need to always be 'on'.
There are pressures of all forms: to look a certain way, to act a certain way, to be a certain way.
With all of those in mind, the societal pressure I have found to be most prominent; not only among women but for men as well, is the pressure that we always have to be 100% okay. Even if we feel like we have been pushed to a breaking point, there is pressure to say 'Oh, I'm fine!".
In reality, we need to realize that it's okay to not be okay. To love yourself, and be yourself means letting yourself feel whatever emotions are coming to us. Letting us experience that and being open about it means being vulnerable.
This is one of the strongest actions for women to take.
Being open and vulnerable is the greatest feat of strength. It comes from loving yourself, being yourself and not being afraid to do either of those things in the face of those who are against you.
